HIPAA

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) was enacted in 1996, for the protection of private and sensitive healthcare data. Under the act, there are two key rules: privacy and security.

HIPAA rules established set standards on how data should be protected, to ensure confidentiality and integrity for members of the public. A 2009 update saw the legislation expanded to include the liabilities of companies found to be negligent in their duty of care, with hefty fines set for non-compliance.

With TRG, you can rest assured that your data is safe. Amongst our staff we have HIPAA-certified facility managers, whose expertise allows us to cater to HIPAA-compliant customers in a number of industries. We know what it means to protect healthcare data.

PCI

PCI compliance protects sensitive financial data, such as cardholder data being processed at data centers. Compliance requirements allow data centers to safeguard PCI data as far as possible, to limit the risk of costly and damaging breaches.

An ISO 27001 certification simply means that a data center has been recognised for the standards it holds in regards to Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). It requires fully secure access points and strict management protocol for the protection of critical data.

Our data centers meet PCI compliance standards, meaning that we have the level of security required to ensure the protection of valuable data such as this. To achieve this compliance, we have demonstrated rigorous security procedures and documented our policies to the standards required.

PCI audits are always carried out by third parties. This allows data centers to demonstrate that security procedures are robust enough to ensure the full protection of cardholder data, within an environment that’s completely secure.

SSAE & SOC

TRG is compliant with the Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE). A standard set by the AICPA governing reporting on controls and services, SSAE 18 attestation is testament to the operational effectiveness of data centers.

For SSAE & SOC compliance, data centers must provide evidence of design and control presentation, to be audited independently. Factors such as security, change management, and organization are all taken into account before a decision is made.

Our data centers are compliant, which enables our customers to demonstrate information security compliance as required.

CenterPoint Energy
ERCOT

Centerpoint Critical Load Designation

CenterPoint Energy, a member of ERCOT and the utility company that supplies our Houston data centers, has confirmed our designation as a non-residential critical load customer. In essence, this means that the data center is now prioritized alongside other vital infrastructure in the event of an interruption to power supplies. This is a money can’t buy accreditation, and it’s one that we’re pleased to be able to share with our customers. Read more about it here.

NFPA

NFPA 110

TRG Data Centers meet NFPA 110 Type 10 requirements, which essentially means that we will never be without power – even in the event of a sudden and unexpected power outage.

Our generators guarantee an acceptable level of power within 10 seconds of an outage. Engine-based generators are used to keep customers online, in the same way as they might be in critical power facilities like healthcare and public utilities.

Emergency and standby power systems are essential in any complaint data center. In the event of a power grid failure, our generators can always be relied upon. This, combined with battery power, allows us to guarantee 100% uptime even in the event of an outage.

Generator maintenance is a vital part of running a data center. We ensure complete reliability through regular testing and maintenance, to keep our generators in perfect condition in the event that they are needed.
